How to Make the State Property Meme With AI

Updated 22 October 2026

The State Property meme is one shot from a TikTok: a grandpa in a white pickup truck leans out of the window and tells a fisherman this ain't no state property, this is private property. An AI version keeps that shot and those lines and puts someone new in the driver's seat: you, a friend who said yes, or your cat or dog.

There are three ways to make one. The TikTok tutorials use a CapCut photo template. You can also try a general AI video tool with your own prompt. Or you can upload one photo here and get the finished clip back. The photo route takes five steps:

  1. Open the toolIt's at the top of our homepage and works in the browser on a phone or a laptop.
  2. Pick Person or Pet and add one photoA photo of yourself, of an adult who said yes, or of your cat or dog. One person or one pet per photo.
  3. Get a packVideos come in one-time packs of 1, 3 or 5, from $6.99. There is no subscription, and credits never expire.
  4. Wait about 5 minutesThe AI swaps out the grandpa and keeps every gesture and the timing of the clip. If the video fails, the credits go back to your account automatically.
  5. Download and postYou get two MP4s: one with the original sound and a silent one. Save the one you want and post it.

Way 1: the CapCut photo template

This is the route the TikTok tutorials teach. The tutorial post links a CapCut AI photo template. You open it in the CapCut app, swap in your own photo and export.

On 17 October 2026 the template most tutorials had linked was already marked unavailable, and it still was on 22 October. Another one, "Private property AI", was still up on 22 October: one photo slot, an 11-second result, and a Dalmatian in the truck window on its cover.

  1. Search TikTok for "state property ai tutorial" or "hit the road dude ai tutorial" and pick a recent post.
  2. Open the template link from the post in the CapCut app.
  3. Swap the template's photo for yours.
  4. Export the video and post it.

Way 2: a general AI video tool and your own prompt

To keep the real clip you need an AI tool that edits a reference video with a photo: you give it the clip and the photo, and it swaps the person in the clip. A plain image-to-video tool will invent a new truck, a new voice and new gestures.

This route asks the most of you. You find the clip, cut the part you want, write the prompt and judge each result, and you may need several tries. A prompt along these lines is a fair start:

  • Replace only the old man in the driver's seat of the white pickup with the person in the photo. Face, hair, body and clothes all come from the photo.
  • Keep the truck, the grass, the trees, the light, the handheld camera and the timing as they are.
  • Copy his head turns, the arm on the window and the pointing, adapted to the new person.
  • No new captions, logos or watermark.

Way 3: make the State Property meme from one photo

This is what this site does. The truck, the field and the lines are already in place; whoever is in your photo ends up behind the wheel. You don't need the CapCut app or a prompt.

You get the 15-second clip, vertical 9:16, 480p, with no watermark, about 5 minutes after you upload. It comes with the original sound, the grandpa's voice, plus a silent copy. The caption from the original TikTok ("POV - Grandpa kicks me out my fishing spot") stays in the picture, because it is burned into the source video.

There are no free videos. Credits come in one-time packs from $6.99, they don't expire, and a failed video gives its credits back automatically. Your photo is deleted from our storage within 2 days.

The result will look like your photo, not a perfect copy. The photo matters most.

Photos that work

A few things make the biggest difference:

  • One person or one pet, nobody else in the shot.
  • Face clear and facing the camera, no sunglasses.
  • Good light; a waist-up or full-body photo works best.
  • For pets: the whole body in view and the eyes visible.
  • Don't upload photos of kids, celebrities or anyone who hasn't said yes.

Put yourself in the truck

One photo, about 5 minutes, from $6.99. Original sound plus a silent copy.

Yes: the CapCut photo template from the tutorials runs in the CapCut app, as long as a template is still up. This site keeps the original clip and its sound and charges per video, from $6.99.

Does the video keep the original sound?

Yes. You get the clip with the original sound (the grandpa's lines) and a silent copy, in case you'd rather add a sound on TikTok.

How long is the video?

15 seconds: from "Who told you you could fish here?" to "This is private property."
